The awareness campaign highlights problem areas
A campaign tagged "noise, nuisance or nightmare" and targeting anti-social neighbours is under way in Glasgow.
The month-long initiative costing £125,000 aims to raise awareness of anti-social noise pollution.
Glasgow City Council's noise pollution unit receives 400 calls a month with barking dogs, DIY and loud music topping the list of complaints.
Since May 2005, a total of 275 warning notices and 14 fixed penalties of £100 were issued to noisy neighbours.
The council works with police to provide a 24-hours a day noise control service.
In extreme cases stereos or even CDs can be seized.
The publicity campaign is funded by a Scottish Executive grant.
Councillor David Stevenson, convener of Environmental Protection Services, said: "We hope this hard-hitting awareness campaign gets across to people to think about how your noise might affect your neighbours."
