To whoever can help me :-)

I live in an apartment with my girlfriend.  I'm doing a degree at university and I require silence so I can study.  On the other hand, my girlfriend plays with the orchestra and spends a lot of time studying violin.  We would like to sort this out by soundproofing part of the apartment.  First of all, does there exist soundproofing materials that can cut down the high pitched notes of a violin completely (regardles of price), and secondly is it possible to build some kind of soundproof corner.  The apartment where we study consist of two large rooms divided by a wall with a door.  Is it better to use this wall to make one room soundproof or a soundproof corner is easier?

Thanks a lot beforehand...Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated as we are finding it very difficult to stay together.  Thanks again!!

Regards,
dodu.
